Edgemoor, Delaware is a census-designated place located in New Castle County. It has a population of approximately 5,677 residents, according to the 2010 U.S. Census.
The community was originally named Fort Delaware, after the nearby Fort Delaware on Pea Patch Island. The name was later changed to Edgemoor in the 1920s, after a local estate.
Edgemoor is situated along the Delaware River and is home to the Edgemoor Gardens Park, a popular spot for outdoor recreation. The community also has a variety of shops and restaurants.
Edgemoor is located near major transportation routes including Interstate 495 and Interstate 95, providing easy access to nearby cities such as Wilmington and Philadelphia.
